Compliments

"I got the book and I'm very impressed. The B737MRG is an excellent guide, very high quality and very well laid out. It would be a book that should be in everyone's aviation library. I'm carrying it in my suitcase so I can study it further. I'm going to learn a lot of things reading this! You've done a great job collecting this information from all your experience, Pat."

Bill BULFER - author of the B737 Cockpit Companion Guide

"This guide is full of lots of good information, tips and advice about handling non-normals. Excellent background reading - especially before visiting the simulator. Your diagrams and tables are particularly good. On the whole it is an excellent publication which gives good advice beyond the scope of our FCOM's and, if you don't mind the logic gate layout, most 737 pilots could learn a lot from it. "

Chris BRADY - author of the b737.org.uk Technical Site

"Just received your book. Even I think I know very well B737s, I learn a little more every day... The B737MRG format is the best compromise ; it is handy, well designed and not too heavy..."

Ludovic André - author of   B737 Smartcockpit.com

"Just received my copy of B737MRG in the post yesterday. After a brief review last night may I say what an 'excellent' product, far better than I expected. Looking forward to sitting down over the coming weeks and diving deeper into the contents. All in all, Pat, I reckon it is money well spent."

A.A.C. - Captain B737 - JAL Express, Japan

"This is a book every B737 pilot should have. I was thinking for many years to do something similar for my own. Having your excellent book, I don't need to think about this anymore. Thank you very much, I am really satisfied by your book and I think you did great job."

"We use this guide for internal Maintenance Training, just to show the guys what happens when pilots have a little light coming up on the panels. This book absolutely fills our expectations and requirements because of its high variety of functions and malfunctions that are explained very thoroughly, what makes finding adequate solutions easier - also for maintenance staff."

"This is the best book for 737 pilots available worldwide, it is just great and beyond expectations. Well done, keep up the excellent job !"

Remarks

"{remark on 2005 publication} I suggest you find a suitably qualified English mother tongue pilot to proof-read the text and correct the orthographical errors. I fully appreciate your efforts on this front (absolutely first class since English is at least your number 2 language), but nevertheless it could be even better with a good proof-read."

J.S. - Instructor B737

REPLY from the AUTHOR : "English is indeed not my mother tongue. The {2006 update} has been proof-read by four English + American pilots to remove linguistic and orthographical errors. Please keep reporting language errors if they still appear."

"{remark on 2005 publication} I also suggest you remove the references to specific airlines with regard to manuals, references, and SOP calls-outs. I realise it must be very tempting to use what you are familiar with as the primary reference, but I am sure that it would be an improvement if the references were kept solely to generic documents, ie FCOM, FCTM, FPPM and DDPG from Boeing and JAA-FAA documents if necessary. I would suggest that in its current format, parts of this guide instantly feel somewhat unfamiliar, and, dare I say it, somehow wrong, due to their over-specific and/or particularly company-oriented nature "

J.S. - Instructor B737

REPLY from the AUTHOR : "The B737MRG was initially written for internal use. I agree that several references are too much company related. These references have been removed in the {2006 update}, only the original Boeing and JAA-FAA references remain."

"The title of your book suggests it provides extended information on failures and follow-up. I was suprised to find out this is not the case. I can find a lot of information from your guide in the Boeing FCOM."

R.F.d.V - F/O B737 - Transavia, the Netherlands

REPLY from the AUTHOR : "I cannot re-invent the Boeing 737, so it is quite self-evident that part of the information can also be found in the FCOM. This remark goes for all 737-guides, including Bill Bulfer's excellent Companion Guide. In all cases I have tried to display the information in a more clear table format, e.g. Hydraulics.

The B737MRG describes over 300 non-normals, about 100 more than covered by the QRH, for example."

"I am sure it is a great informational text, but I would mention that the price is awfully high."

R.C - F/O B737 - Continental Airlines, USA

REPLY from the AUTHOR : "When you compare the B737MRG to other B737 guides, make sure you compare the Black-White price and take into account the number of pages (over 100 pages more). You will notice that the price is in accordance with other guides.
The price for the full color publication is indeed high, because the guide is printed on luxury glaze paper. However, more than 80% of our sale is 'Full Color', so I guess the color edition is really value for money.

Unfortunately we also suffer from substantial overhead costs (website design 2,5%, credit cards 4,7%, bookkeeper 6,2%, shipping 8%, taxation...), all for only 1 item in our on-line e-shop !"
